During a recent event on October 10 for the show “Mango Newborn Class: Partner Season,” Qin Hailu reflected on her experience as a homeroom teacher. “After becoming a homeroom teacher, I saw bits of my younger self in these students—naive, innocent, charming, and maybe a little foolish. Fortunately, after more than 40 days together, I’ve witnessed their growth,” she shared.
The event gathered Qin Hailu alongside lead instructor Zhou Yiwei and ten students, including Wang Ding, Wang Ziyu, Wang Qiaoxi, Yang Qiyuan, Zhang Feiran, Zhou Yiru, Yao Jingyuan, Xu Yuanya, An Hao, and Cai Jinxin. They all participated in a discussion where the creative team shared insights about their experiences in production and recording.
Qin Hailu and Zhou Yiwei emphasized the unique nature of acting. “Acting is fascinating; it isn’t a formula. It requires a long time to cultivate your abilities, and only when those abilities mature can you start to work with the formula,” Qin explained. She encourages her students to take steady steps in the right direction, while Zhou noted his desire to share the realities of the acting profession through the program. “We are all born actors, each suited for certain roles. Professional actors strive to portray their characters authentically, regardless of fit, so the audience accepts them. I believe we’ve achieved that over these 40 days.”
When asked about the program’s motivation, director Bai Yue remarked, “The industry generally adopts a wait-and-see approach to nurturing new talent. While everyone hesitates to take the leap, Mango has chosen to start now.”
Regarding the controversies surrounding the acting profession, Zhou Yiwei stressed the importance of responsibility among actors. “We must respect our audience and avoid making empty promises. I hope these students can excel in this profession and honor the viewers,” he concluded.
