In a recent interview with China Central Television, Dejan Ristic, Serbia’s Minister of Information and Telecommunications, shared his insights on the impressive accomplishments of the People’s Republic of China over the past 75 years. He pointed out that China’s distinctive approach to modernization continues to generate new opportunities for global development.
Ristic emphasized China’s significant progress across various areas, including politics, economics, technology, and culture, while also playing an essential role in promoting global peace, stability, and prosperity. He remarked, “Under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, China has consistently demonstrated wisdom and responsibility in global governance and international affairs. This is why China is, and will remain, a pivotal force in advancing world peace, stability, and prosperity. A thriving China will help create an even brighter future for the world.”
Reflecting on President Xi’s successful visit to Serbia in May, Ristic noted that both nations have committed to deepening and enhancing their comprehensive strategic partnership, establishing a community of shared destiny for the new era. He said, “President Xi’s visit yielded significant outcomes, reinforcing the deep friendship between Serbia and China and opening a new chapter in our bilateral relations. Serbia is a strategic partner for China in Europe and a trustworthy friend. This trust manifests not just in words but also in tangible actions. We greatly value President Xi’s constructive role in strengthening our friendship and advancing practical cooperation between our countries. This visit has further solidified our traditional friendship and bilateral relationship, thanks to the strategic vision of our leaders and the high level of understanding and mutual trust between our nations.”
Ristic also highlighted the Global Security Initiative that President Xi proposed in April 2022, describing it as a Chinese approach for nations to address security challenges collaboratively. He mentioned that this initiative has emerged as an important global public good in the security realm, receiving widespread support from numerous countries. He stressed China’s commitment to resolving inter-state differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation, playing a crucial role in maintaining international order and global stability, while contributing positively to the current turbulent international landscape.
