Napoli Agree New Reduced Transfer Fee on Osimhen

Interviewer: “There have been some important updates regarding Victor Osimhen’s future at Napoli. Can you fill us in on what’s been decided about his transfer?”

Source: “Absolutely. Napoli has reached a new agreement concerning the permanent transfer of Victor Osimhen. Right now, he’s on loan at Galatasaray, the champions of Turkey. Interestingly, while on loan, Osimhen has opted to extend his contract with Napoli until 2027.”

Interviewer: “That’s quite a commitment! I also hear there have been changes to his buyout clause. What’s the latest on that?”

Source: “That’s right. According to RAI Sport, his buyout clause was initially set at €130 million, but it has significantly decreased now that he’s extended his contract. A club can secure him for €90 million if they want to make a permanent move in January, and that price will drop even further to €75 million for a transfer next summer.”

Interviewer: “Last summer, there was a lot of interest from various clubs. How did that influence Napoli’s asking price?”

Source: “Many clubs, including PSG and Chelsea, found Napoli’s asking price of €130 million to be quite frustrating, leading them to withdraw their bids when Napoli refused to negotiate. Even Al-Ahli from Saudi Arabia made a late push to sign Osimhen, but he seems determined to remain in Europe for the time being.”

Interviewer: “Which clubs are currently interested in Osimhen?”

Source: “So far, Juventus in Serie A and Chelsea in the Premier League are the latest clubs linked with him.”

Interviewer: “There have also been concerns about his injury, particularly in relation to the upcoming UEFA Europa League match. What can you tell us about that?”

Source: “That’s correct. Galatasaray has chosen not to risk him for Thursday’s match against Rigas FS after he picked up a hamstring injury in a match against Kasimpasa last weekend. Turkish media outlet Fanatik reported this, but they’re hopeful that Osimhen will be ready for their league match against Alanyaspor on Sunday.”

Interviewer: “How is Osimhen personally managing the injury situation?”

Source: “He seemed to downplay the injury he sustained against Kasimpasa, which kept him out of the second half of that thrilling 3-3 draw. Despite this setback, he’s had a solid run, scoring two goals and providing four assists in the four matches he’s played for Galatasaray.”
