On October 26, Jiangxi Province in central China celebrated the launch of its first dedicated air cargo route for cross-border e-commerce.
On that day, a fully loaded cargo plane bearing cross-border e-commerce goods took off from Nanchang Changbei International Airport, marking the official opening of this new air route from the Nanchang port. This development represents a significant milestone for Jiangxi, as it becomes the province’s inaugural dedicated air freight line for cross-border e-commerce.
The cargo on board consisted mainly of everyday items such as clothing, shoes, and decorative goods, totaling 40 tons with an estimated value of 3 million yuan, and it is destined for Belgium.
Customs authorities highlighted that the opening of this dedicated air cargo route will facilitate the export of more “Made in China” products to overseas markets and will help meet the growing demand for air freight services to Europe from Jiangxi and the greater Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions.
Recently, Nanchang port has seen a significant boost in cross-border e-commerce activity. According to statistics, the volume of cross-border e-commerce export packages from Nanchang has increased by over 50% year-on-year in the first ten months of this year.
