Jiangsu Province’s All Tibet Aid Cadres and Talents Conference deploys new tasks in aiding Lhasa

On October 19th, a meeting was held in Lhasa by the Jiangsu Aid to Tibet Command to gather all personnel involved in the initiative. The meeting focused on deploying and arranging work for the ongoing and future aid efforts from Jiangsu to Tibet.

In attendance was Li Jiangxin, the Party Secretary and Commander of the Jiangsu Aid to Tibet Command, who also serves as a member of the Lhasa Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor. During his speech, he highlighted that over the past 30 years, Jiangsu’s contributions in terms of financial investment, project quality, and the number of dispatched personnel have consistently ranked among the best in the country. Notably, Jiangsu has maintained a top-tier ranking in the national “13th Five-Year” and “14th Five-Year” evaluations for counterpart aid to Tibet, thereby enhancing the province’s reputation for its efforts in this area.

For instance, in Mozhugongka, the “Gesanghua Industry Park” constructed with an investment of 66.8 million yuan has become a crucial asset for consolidating poverty alleviation achievements and promoting rural revitalization. Meanwhile, in Linzhou, the first comprehensive farming and livestock demonstration park in Tibet—the Gesangtang Modern Agricultural and Livestock Industry Demonstration Park—has successfully integrated an entire value chain covering pasture, cattle, meat, and dairy.

Li emphasized that Jiangsu’s approach to Tibet aid remains consistent, addressing funding, project implementation, and innovative mechanisms, all aimed at continuously invigorating Lhasa’s economic development. Looking ahead, Jiangsu aims to further enhance the effectiveness of its aid efforts.

He underscored the importance of focusing on industry as a key support system. The plan includes promoting local specialties, revitalizing traditional brands, expanding marketing channels, and exploring collaborative initiatives that facilitate the exchange of Tibetan and Jiangsu products. Additionally, there are aims to optimize the “Cultural Tourism+” model to foster deeper cooperation between the two regions, which will benefit Lhasa’s tourism and increase farmers’ incomes. The Jiangsu Aid Command is also set to upgrade eight functional parks, including the “Gesanghua Industry Park,” to a “2.0 version,” leveraging leading enterprises to consolidate projects and industries within these parks.

The meeting was attended by all Jiangsu aid personnel, including teachers and medical staff working in Tibet. Prior to the meeting, 135 Jiangsu aid personnel explored an exhibition showcasing achievements from 30 years of national counterpart aid to Tibet.
