During his brief visit, Chalamet was spotted posing for photos with his curly-haired doppelgangers, further amplifying the excitement in the park. Reports indicate that the local police had to manage the bustling crowd, which was estimated to be in the hundreds.
According to Variety, Chalamet cleverly navigated through the throng of fans while disguised under a mask and baseball cap. He stealthily approached two lookalikes who were busy posing for pictures, resulting in an uproar of surprise and delight from the onlookers.
The event, organized by YouTuber Anthony Po, promised a prize of $50 for the winner and attracted thousands of RSVPs online. Fans shared their criteria for what makes a good Chalamet lookalike. One attendee, Lauren Klas, explained, “It’s all in the nose. All of his bone structure, really.”
The contestants were also asked about their French language skills, their plans for making the world a better place, and even their romantic aspirations involving Kylie Jenner, whom Chalamet is rumored to be dating.
Ultimately, 21-year-old Miles Mitchell from Staten Island took home the top prize, impressively dressed in a Willy Wonka outfit. He celebrated his win by tossing candy to the crowd from a briefcase, much to the delight of the fans.
In addition to this fun-filled event, Chalamet is set to star in a new biopic titled “A Complete Unknown,” where he will portray Bob Dylan during the 1960s, chronicling the musician’s rise to fame. The film is slated for release in December in the U.S. and January in the U.K.
