The 136th China Import and Export Fair phase two, themed “Quality Home Furnishings,” is currently taking place in Guangzhou. A total of 267 overseas companies from 33 countries and regions are showcasing selected products, including kitchenware, home goods, gifts, and promotional items, as they seek to leverage this platform for new opportunities in global trade.
On October 25, the import exhibition area attracted numerous buyers engaging in discussions at the Human Comfort booth, a Dutch outdoor products company. Danny, the company’s representative, shared, “I attended the Fair as a buyer 20 years ago. This year, I’m back as an exhibitor, showcasing air mattresses, Dutch tents, and Turkish carpets.” He noted that buyers from various countries have been coming to negotiate orders and emphasized the growing number of camping enthusiasts in China, expressing optimism about meeting their needs with high-quality products.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, for the first three quarters of this year, China’s import and export value with Belt and Road Initiative countries reached 15.21 trillion yuan, accounting for 47.1% of the country’s total trade during the same period.
“This is our first time at the Fair, and we’re presenting a portable, quick, and convenient multifunctional outdoor stove,” said Carlos Varela, the representative of GSCJ Stylling Steel UNIP LDA from Portugal. He highlighted that this multifunctional stove is efficient, durable, and exquisitely designed for various settings, including kitchens, yards, and RVs, and they’ve already secured orders from buyers in the Netherlands on the first day of the Fair.
Varela also noted that the Fair provides a vital platform for global trade. He explained, “We are committed to producing professional kitchenware, but due to high production costs in Europe, we established a factory in China over 20 years ago.”
This edition of the Fair features 185 companies from 22 Belt and Road Initiative countries, along with numerous EU businesses presenting their distinctive products.
Jonas, a representative from the German furniture company Testrut(DE) GmbH, showcased a modern, minimalist outdoor furniture set highlighting a novel stitching design for increased comfort and durability. He illustrated how the entire set is detachable, making transportation easier while ensuring high quality and affordability to meet the diverse consumer needs in China.
As one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of aluminum pots, Alluflon SpA from Italy has been active in the Chinese market since 2019. They brought a variety of durable and aesthetically pleasing kitchenware to this year’s Fair, including colorful ceramic frying pans and non-stick composite steel woks.
“Our best-selling item is the cast aluminum pot. It features high-quality, pore-free aluminum suitable for all types of cooktops, while the lid is made from high borosilicate glass for easy monitoring during cooking. The handle has a classic wooden design, embodying both luxury and sustainability,” shared Matteo Bruni, the company’s president. He expressed confidence in the Chinese market, noting that their products are popular in offline retail stores and online platforms like Tmall and JD.com.
Bruni concluded by stating that his company is also forming partnerships with buyers from Southeast Asia and North America at the Fair and hopes to collaborate with more manufacturers globally to expand their market outreach.
