Brooklyn Book Festival Children’s Day
Launched in 2006, the Brooklyn Book Festival has grown to become one of New York’s largest free cultural events. This year, the festival runs from now until September 30, with a total of eight days of activities featuring approximately 250 publishers and over 300 authors engaging with readers. Special events for Children’s Day and Festival Day are scheduled for September 28 (Saturday) and September 29 (Sunday), respectively. Children’s Day on the 28th will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM, showcasing 28 children’s literature authors from around the world who will share their works and creative insights. Festival Day on the 29th will run from 10 AM to 6 PM, featuring 53 different sessions. Atlantic Antic
The 49th Annual Atlantic Antic will be held on September 29 (Sunday) along Atlantic Avenue, near downtown Brooklyn. As one of the borough’s largest local community events, attendees can indulge in a vibrant mix of food, art, music, markets, and entertainment, while immersing themselves in Brooklyn’s diverse cultural atmosphere. Saturday Science: Perceiving Climate Change
During Climate Week in New York, the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University will host a free science series event titled “Saturday Science,” focusing on the theme “Perceiving Climate Change” on September 28 (Saturday). Aimed at middle and elementary school students, this interactive experience will engage participants’ five senses to explore the reality of climate change, guided by professionals in environmental science, biology, and neuroscience.
