This week, Khazar Momeni, the sister of Nima Momeni, the suspect in the murder case of Cash App founder Bob Lee, continued her testimony in court, providing one of the most comprehensive accounts related to the case thus far.
In a report by the San Francisco Chronicle, Khazar recounted her first encounter with Jeremy Boivin, who is alleged to be a drug dealer, on the morning of April 3 last year. She stated that Bob Lee and Boivin arrived at her apartment in Millennium Tower carrying a large container of nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as “laughing gas,” along with a bottle of gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, known as GHB.
Khazar noted that Bob Lee quickly left her apartment. Later, she joined Boivin at his apartment on South Market Street, where they used more drugs, including GHB and the hallucinogen LSD. Eventually, Bob Lee brought another friend, Bo Mohazzabi, to Boivin’s place to partake in the drug use.
Recalling the events, Khazar mentioned that after Bob Lee and Bo Mohazzabi had departed and her friend Aranza Villegas had joined them, Boivin injected them with GHB, causing her to lose consciousness. Upon waking, she discovered that she had been sexually assaulted by Boivin. In a confused state, Khazar managed to reach out to her brother, Nima, who helped her return to his apartment.
Once back at Millennium Tower, Bob Lee visited her again and gave her a bottle of ketamine, with Nima present. When prosecutors asked Khazar whether she had been intimate with Bob Lee, she denied it but remarked that his behavior that weekend had seemed a bit “off.”
The Chronicle highlighted a critical piece of testimony from Bo Mohazzabi last week, indicating that after Nima had gone to retrieve Khazar from Boivin’s home, he called Bob Lee in an “interrogation” tone to inquire about what had transpired and what drugs Khazar had taken.
During her initial court appearance, Khazar asserted that her brother did not kill Bob Lee, despite defense attorneys claiming that Nima acted in self-defense in the stabbing. She described her last interaction between Nima and Bob Lee as friendly, noting that Bob Lee had shown Nima a picture of a girl he was interested in, and they discussed whether to visit a strip club, with Nima even helping Bob Lee put on his shoes.
However, after leaving her apartment with Bob Lee, Nima called Khazar, stating, “Tonight did not go as planned.” Khazar interpreted this as strictly a matter between her brother and Bob Lee, leading her not to inquire further about the situation. She firmly maintained that she had no knowledge of her brother’s actions before his arrest.
