The Shooting World Cup finals come to an end and the Chinese team’s hardware ends

On October 17th, the 2024 Shooting World Cup Final concluded in New Delhi, India. The last day of competition saw Chinese athlete Qi Ying triumph in the men’s trap event, marking the first time China has secured a World Cup Final title in this category. The Chinese team finished on top of the medal table with a total of 5 golds and 3 bronzes.

Qi Ying, who won a silver medal in men’s trap at the Paris Olympics, achieved a perfect score by hitting all 35 targets during the final round, leading the competition from start to finish. With a final score of 47, he claimed his first World Cup Final gold medal, making history for the Chinese team in this event.

Reflecting on his achievement, Qi stated, “This is just the beginning for me, and I hope to keep improving in future training and competitions.” Indian shooter Kapur took the silver medal with a score of 44, while Turkey’s Tuncer rounded out the podium in third place.

Earlier in the competition, Huang Yuting, Sheng Lihao, Xie Yu, and Li Yuehong each captured gold medals in their respective events: women’s 10m air rifle, men’s 10m air rifle, men’s 10m air pistol, and men’s 25m rapid fire pistol. All four athletes secured gold at the Paris Olympics, further showcasing their formidable skills.

Additionally, Wang Xinjie earned a bronze in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event, Han Jiayu took bronze in the women’s 50m rifle three positions, and young athlete Feng Sixuan won bronze in the women’s 25m sports pistol.

With the conclusion of this year’s Shooting World Cup Final, the Chinese team continued their strong performance from the Paris Olympics, achieving 5 golds and 3 bronzes across the 12 events. Meanwhile, Italy, Germany, France, Hungary, Denmark, San Marino, and the United States each claimed one gold medal.
