In the women’s singles, Chinese athletes swept the podium. Xu Wenjing continued her impressive form against Thailand’s Salenlak, marking her second victory over the Thai player this season with scores of 21-12 and 24-22. In another match, Yin Yiqing battled through three tough games to meet her teammate Dai Qinyi in the final.
The success continued in men’s singles as Chinese players also advanced to the finals. Wang Zijun showcased his reliability in crucial moments, clinching a tight match against Indonesia’s second seed, Ubaidillah, with scores of 21-19 and 22-20. The other semifinal featured a showdown between two Chinese players, where top seed Hu Zhe’an defeated Liu Yangming in straight sets.
In the mixed doubles, two Chinese duos faced off in a highly competitive semifinal. The second-seeded team of Lin Xiangyi and Liu Yuanyuan managed to overcome their teammates Wang Ziheng and Cao Zihan with scores of 21-18 and 21-16. They are set to compete against the Taipei duo of Lai Boyou and Sun Liangqing in the final.
Additionally, Lin Xiangyi made his mark in men’s doubles, teaming up with Hu Keyuan to decisively beat Japan’s Matsukawa Kenta and Nakajima Yuto with a score of 21-17 and 21-5, progressing to both the mixed and men’s doubles finals.
In another men’s doubles semifinal, the fourth-seeded Chinese pair of Chen Yongrui and Chen Zhehan fought hard against the top-seeded Malaysian team but ultimately fell in a three-game battle.
